This tutorial was written using PSP Version 7.2, however, it can be done in other versions including PSP Versions 8, 9 and Coral PSP X.

~Now Let's Get Started~

Things needed for this tutorial:

PSP 7/8/9/Coral PSPX  PSP 7, 8, 9 or Coral PSPX-click to download a Free trial version
Wood Tile  My ©Wood Tile Zip - click to Download Zip
Rack Bevel  My ©Quilt Rack Bevel Zip - click to Download Zip
Tubes  Your own tubes or pixel paintings and imagination.

1. Download the Wood Tile Zip and save it in a file then OPEN it on your PSP Desktop. (You do not have to use the Wood Tile if your don't want to. You can also use any color you want as well to go with your pages if you wish.) See Screen Shot Below:

2. Download the Quilt Rack Bevel Zip and save it in your PSP "PRESETS" Folder. Here is your file path:
C:/ProgramFiles/JascSoftware/PaintShopPro7/Presets

3. Find some PSP Tubes or Pixel Paintings that you want to use for your Quilt Rack. I used these adorable tubes for my Quilt Rack from:

Country Design Free Tubes
Please note that this site is no longer on line.

4. Go to Files on your PSP Desktop and Open a New Transparent Image 600 x 600.

5. Now, we want the Wood Tile to appear in our "Textures Box" on the Color Palette. To do this, simply click directly on the little black arrow on your textures box and a small little window will pop up. As you run your cursor over the four little boxes in that window you will see the "Pattern" word show up on one of the boxes. Click on the Pattern Box. See Screen Shot Below:

6. When you click on the Pattern Box a New Window will pop up. You will see a different Pattern when this little window pops up. This is where your Patterns are stored in PSP so don't worry about it. Make sure your settings for your Pattern Window are set to "Scale 100% and Angle 0". Now Scroll down on your Pattern Window until you see the Wood Tile that you downloaded and that is still open on your desktop. Click on it and it will pop into your "Pattern Window". Click OK and it will then pop over to your "Textures" on your Color Palette. See Screen Shots Below:

7. Go the your Preset Shapes Tool on your PSP Toolbar. Highlight the square shape. See Screen Shot Below:

8. Go back to your new transparent image 600 x 600 that you made. I always add another layer and flood fill it with white so I can see better what I'm doing. After I finish my graphic I "Delete" that White Layer so it's back on a transparent background. Now Draw a large rectangle image about 575 x 30. See Screen Shot Below: *sample below has been resized to save on download time, so your drawing will be much larger than my sample*

9. Deselect (Select None) and Convert to Raster Layer. To convert to Raster Layer, simply go to your Layer Palette and right click on your newly drawn Vector Layer and then Click on Convert to Raster Layer. See Screen Shot Below:

10. Make sure your new raster layer is highlighted on your Layer Palette. Go to your PSP Toolbar to Effects/3DEffects/InnerBevel. Apply my Bevel that you Downloaded from the Zip File. Just Scroll down on the new window that pops up and look for QuiltRackBevel_Ash and click on OK. See Screen Shots Below:

11. Now you want to make the Second and Third shelves for your quilt rack. Follow steps 8-10 above except you want the length and width of the Second Piece to be around 546 wide and 10 in height. And your Third Piece to be around 504 in width and 10 in height. You can judge the size for yourself as to how large you want your quilt rack. See Screen Shot Below:

12. Go to your Preset Shapes Tool again and draw your first Large Quilt Peg in a vertical position. Convert to Raster Layer and add my bevel again as you did in Step 10. On your Layer Palette, Duplicate your Large Quilt Peg, that you just drew, by right clicking on that Duplicated Layer and then go to Image/Mirror on your PSP Toolbar and Mirror your Duplicated Layer ONLY. Now go to your Layer Palette and Move your First Large Quilt Peg and your Copy of your First Large Quilt Peg BELOW your Quilt Top Small Third Piece.
Your Quilt Rack should now look like this. See Screen Shots Below:

13. We are now going to draw the Quilt Base. Go to your Preset Shapes Tool again and draw a long rectangle about 575 in width and 15 in height or to suit your own needs. Follow Steps 8 through 10 again. See Screen Shot Below:

14. Now we are going to draw our three Small Quilt Pegs.

~Select the Hexagon Shape.
~Draw your first small peg in the middle of your Quilt Base.
~Convert to Raster Layer and Bevel again with my Quilt Bevel.
~Highlight your new Small Quilt Peg Layer on your Layer Palette and move it by dragging it with your mouse below your Quilt Base Layer.
~Take your Mover Tool, on your PSP Tool Desktop, and position your Small Quilt Peg making sure it is in the middle of your rack.
~Now go back to your Layer Palette and right click on your Small Quilt Peg Layer and Duplicate it.
~Go to your Mover Tool on your PSP Desktop and move your Small Quilt Peg to the Right of your Quilt Base.
~Go to your Layer Palette again and Duplicate your COPY of your Small Quilt Peg.
~Go to Image/mirror and your Small Quilt Peg should move right into position on the left side of your Quilt Base.
~Use your Mover Tool to position your small pegs if needed.

***See Screen Shots Below***

15. Go to Your Layer Palette and Delete Your White Layer. Merge Visible Layers.
This is what your Completed Quilt Rack should look like now. All ready for you decorate and have fun. And back with it's original Transparent Background. It should be larger than this one because I have resized it for this tutorial. You can also use this for a Stamp Rack by just resizing it down on your Tool Options/PictureTubes.

16. Now we are going to save it as a Tube so you can use it over and over again.
Make sure that you have Merged Visible Layers. Go to File/Export/PictureTube. A new window will pop up. In the Lower Right hand corner of the window, name your new Quilt Rack and just click on 'ok'. Now you have your New Quilt Rack Picture Tube that you can use over and over again and size it to any size you want. Just click on your Picture Tube Tool and scroll down till you locate it. See Screen Shots Below:

Congratulations! You have Finished and have your first Quilt Rack! Now go and have a nice cup of Coffee and relax!
